Prices
Prices here are quoted in pounds sterling (£). If you prefer you can have an invoice in euros (€) or US dollars ($). Therefore payment can be made directly into one of three currency accounts. The rate of exchange will be taken from the internet at the time of issuing the pro-forma invoice.
Payments
I require a deposit of one hundred pounds sterling or euros for each room booked. The balance of payment should be made 42 nights (six weeks) prior to arrival. If your booking is within six weeks of your arrival date, then full payment is required immediately.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your booking you may do so up to sixty days prior to your arrival date without penalty and anything you have paid will be returned to you less any bank charges. After this date the deposit will be forfeit. If cancellation is received less than 42 nights prior to your arrival the whole or part of the rental payment recieved may be forfeit depending on whether it is possible to re-book the room(s). Every effort will be made to do so.
Arrival in Venice
I will provide you with directions to get to the house and in all probability meet you in person when you get here. If I am unavailable, I will designate someone else to do so who will show you your room(s), give you the front door key and explain everything you need to know. We will welcome you with a bottle of prosecco to brighten up your arrival in Venice.
Children
It has always been a pleasure to have children in the house, but I do need to warn you that given the number of antiques about which are fragile it is not the most suitable house for children as breakages can occur. It is not question of cost of repair but being able to repair things. Also the surfaces are all hard, marble, terrazzo or wood which can be slippery and injurious to small children.
Smoking
As an ex-smoker myself I appreciate that people like a cigarette sometimes. I'm sorry however I do not allow smoking in the house, but it is perfectly acceptable in the garden.
